DOGMA

Let’s compare with Dogma 95 when Lars von Trier established the Dogme Manifesto 1995:

“The goal of the Dogme collective is to purify filmmaking by refusing expensive and spectacular special effects, post-production modifications and other technical gimmicks. The filmmakers concentrate on the story and the actors’ performances. They believe this approach may better engage the audience, as they are not alienated or distracted by overproduction. To this end, Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg produced ten rules to which any Dogme film must conform. These rules, referred to as the “Vow of Chastity,” are as follows:

Shooting must be done on location. Props and sets must not be brought in (if a particular prop is necessary for the story, a location must be chosen where this prop is to be found).

  1. The sound must never be produced apart from the images or vice versa. (Music must not be used unless it occurs where the scene is being shot.)
  2. The camera must be hand-held. Any movement or immobility attainable in the hand is permitted.
  3. The film must be in colour. Special lighting is not acceptable. (If there is too little light for exposure the scene must be cut or a single lamp be attached to the camera).
  4. Optical work and filters are forbidden.
  5. The film must not contain superficial action. (Murders, weapons, etc. must not occur.)
  6. Temporal and geographical alienation are forbidden. (That is to say that the film takes place here and now.)
  7. Genre movies are not acceptable.
  8. The film format must be Academy 35 mm.
  9. The director must not be credited.”

What can we take out of this so screens are not FAKE SCREENS ? This said they will not create FAKE NEWS.

Fake News are fixed by the NGA, so we are safe, but does this go also for Fake Screens? The SAND Bible does not give a clear answer. A Manifesto and a campagne is needed:

NO SCR CRU ~ No Screen Cruelty!

The Manifesto goes back to 2009 where the standard of a RAW SCREENSHOT was published. Now we live in advanced Windlight times. Time for an update!

Let us go step by step:

  1. The sound: A shot has to be soundless.
  2. The camera (CRTL-ALT-Z) must be hand-held. Same goes for the mouse.
  3. The shot must be in color. Graphic cards that support only black and white are not permitted.
  4. Optical work and filters are forbidden.
  5. The shot must not contain superficial action.
  6. Temporal and geographical alienation are forbidden. (No Hide My Ass software, No IP changer.)
  7. Genre shots are not acceptable. (On a PG region only PG shots)
  8. The shots format must be Academy ~ state of the art: 6016 pixel width.
  9. The director must not be credited.”

You see the good old standards made their way back to the reality of 2017 onwards.
